Scott Pape’s Money Movement
3 x 60′ Documentary Series
In this three-part documentary series, Scott Pape’s Money Movement, we follow behind-the-scenes as Scott Pape, author of Australia’s best selling non-fiction book ever, The Barefoot Investor, launches a financial revolution that he hopes will change the nation… starting with kids in school. Kids spend a total of around 2,300 days at school, yet not even one of those days is dedicated to teaching them the essential money skills they’ll be tested on every single day of their lives. Kids graduate from school without the skills to pay the bills.
Scott is on a mission to change this, so he’s started a movement. He’s come up with a curriculum for both primary and secondary students to cover what they should learn about money before they leave school. He passionately believes that if every student checked off these things by the time they graduate, it would set them up for life. His big, ambitious, dream is that every Aussie kid will learn these practical money skills at school. We’ll follow Scott as he creates his grassroots campaign with eager students and passionate teachers but gradually grows it to include his high-profile celebrity mates.
Scott believes that teaching kids about money has the potential to help their parents too and if you do it with enough families, you can change the nation. He heads to Brazil to discover the long-term impact on students and families involved in the world’s largest financial literacy trial program, and evidence of the ‘trickle-up’ effect is clear.
